Remotion, Riddance, and a Purple Sandtree Cherry Tree

Yesterday we received an e-mail from the couple who bought our condominium - they are threatening to get a lawyer because we took an IKEA CD shelf and a bathroom shelf from the condo on the day of the move. It didn't occur to us that we were doing anything wrong, in fact we thought we were doing them a favour because they were crappy old IKEA items (not that there is anything wrong with IKEA stuff - just this stuff). Nice, eh? So I wrote a somewhat sweaty and lugubrious e-mail back, apologizing and offering to not only drive the IKEA items back to their condominium today (bowed and on my scraped knees) - suitably wrapped and boxed - but also to drop off a television console we got from IKEA. The ironic thing is that we were trying to get rid of all of the items, either by giving away to friends and family, perhaps in a garage sale or finally just in the dump. It didn't occur to us that they would want these items. Returning the TV console was a particularly brilliant idea that Spring had - now we know what to do with the damn thing.

So that's what 'fixtures' means when you move house. Don't remove fixtures boys and girls. Woops.

Archie (played by John Cleese) in A Fish Called Wanda utters the following apology:

"I offer a complete and utter retraction. The imputation was totally without basis in fact and was in no way fair comment and was motivated purely by malice, and I deeply regret any distress that my comments may have caused you or your family, and I hereby undertake not to repeat any such slander at any time in the future."

Mungo's germane version is as follows:

"I offer a complete and utter return of said IKEA furnishings. The remotion and riddance was totally without basis in justification and was in no way a fair action and was motivated purely by malice and contempt, and I deeply regret any distress that my purgative actions may have caused you or your family, and I hereby undertake not to repeat any such evacuation at any time in the future."

I took a few photographs this morning of a Purple Sandtree Cherry that bloomed yesterday all-of-a-sudden in our new backyard whilst supervising Monty on his morning evacuations (as he is not allowed to be off leash until his knee recovers). Here they are, along with a few other images I found on the web for fun and interest:
